Swimming with the Manatee
Wow! What a weekend! Now that have had a HOT shower and have shaved I think I will sleep really well. I was not sure if the 11 hour drive would be worth it, but I am glad we made it through. I would have hated to know that I missed it.
I have to say my favorite part was Rainbow River. Even though swimming with the Manatee comes in a very close second. Being able to dive down 20 feet in crystal clear water was amazing. (My ears are still popping!) Watching Barish and Shelby dive with such ease made us all want to do it. It was harder than it looked.
Canoeing through the woods was awesome also. Too bad we did not have all day to explore the springs. I think we would have eventually heard banjo music if we kept going though.
I want to say I am very proud of the patrols leaders and their patrols. We had our few difficulties, but for the most part you all worked well together. I am starting to see some good "meshing" within the patrols. Keep working together and listening to your Patrol Leaders. It will get easier.
I am also proud of the Senior Leadership this weekend. I think Nathaniel, Clayton and Shelby did an awesome job. I wish they could continue another 6 months. Maybe we can postpone elections until September? Just Kidding!
Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Barish and Tyler for planning everything. It was a great experience.
Mr. Thornton
P.S. Awesome Geezer Food too!
