Febuary Trip
The trip started on Valentines weekend with a damp campsite and rain soon followed. The average temperature was around 45 but it felt a hack of a lot colder then that. After cooking the meals and sitting by the campfire, the troop went to sleep. Early the next morning we all got into our bathing suits and headed to the manatee reservation. Lucky for us there seemed to be around 50 manatees. The water was freezing, so to speak, but everyone seemed to enjoy it. Finally we went to a park and ate some packed lunches.
Next was the snorkeling down the rainbow river. The First group did the mile swim while the one after that went 1/2 a mile and finally the last group did about a 1/4. I was in the third group and while waiting we had a football and shark and minnows game going on. Finally we got on a boat and man was that river clean. The adventure was about thirty minutes and we soon headed back to camp. After another good meal we the troop slowly but surely feel asleep.
the next morning the younger troop went on a hike while the older boys went canoeing. I was in the hike and it was pretty easy, and it was led by Norris, Keenan, and I. After that we went to the park to have lunch. Then it was our turn to go canoeing which our buddy boat seemed to sink while we went in circles around it. When we got back with most of us dry, we had found out the older scouts took a nap instead of hiking but we had dinner and finished with the campfire. Then we cleaned up and headed home.
